Jeff Cooperman represents real estate developers in connection with the acquisition and legal design of property for commercial projects, HOA communities and condominiums. Mr. Cooperman’s experience includes the preparation and drafting of homeowners association and condominium declarations, leases, easements, license agreements, shared access and maintenance agreements and other agreements relating to cost sharing and shared club facilities. Mr. Cooperman also works closely with developers, bulk buyers and investment groups in a myriad of real estate transactions including acquisitions of distressed condominium projects.
Over the course of his time with the firm, Mr. Cooperman has advised clients, both developers and non-developers, in hundreds of turnover and other association meetings and through such experience has developed a unique understanding of the solutions to challenges associated with the transition of association control and completion of projects.
Mr. Cooperman also serves as a partner at the law firm of Association Law Group, where Mr. Cooperman acts as general counsel to condominium and homeowners associations throughout Florida. Mr. Cooperman advises associations in regards to all matters including day to day operational issues, contracts, pre-litigation matters, meetings and voting matters, statutory interpretation and amendments to governing documents.
Before joining the firm in 2007, Mr. Cooperman practiced as a criminal defense attorney for the Law Offices of the Public Defender for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida.
Mr. Cooperman earned his undergraduate degree in International Politics from the University of Denver and the received his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Miami School of Law. Mr. Cooperman is a member of The American Bar Association and Florida Bar Association.
